My Story

22 Sep 2025

This is the second year to ride to help children with cancer. The Great Cycle Challenge helps kids with cancer by raising money for childhood cancer research, funding new treatments, and raising awareness. Since its inception, the challenge has funded hundreds of researchers and helped bring significant advances, including studies on targeted cancer therapies and cord blood transplant recovery times. and much more.

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

My sweet precious Mother had cancer three times and thankfully fully recovered with the help of cancer research. medical treatments, great medical workers and by God's grace. The medical people teamwork with research can and do really makes a difference. Also I have had two precious piano and violin students who had cancer who didn't do so well. Mathew and Karen have suffered a lot from it. My mother suffered much from it too. It hurts to see people you love suffer from it. I would love for help to be there for those suffering to be made well and for their loving families to be encouraged by their better health.

Please support these children by giving them hope and making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve. Your support will change little lives. It has in the past.

Since 1981, this organization has contributed over $233 million to research, support programs for children and families, and awareness and education outreach. In our January 1 to December 31, 2022 fiscal year, 81 percent of funds raised went directly to these program services areas.

Thank you.

  • Here we are looking at “what are those glowing eyes?”
    30 Sep 2025

Amelia and Kenzie found a big Momma spider with hundreds of babies riding on her back! We were riding at night. I did several rides at night, but this is one at Josh’s house when I was spending the night with them to help night watch over Kenzie who has type one diabetes.

Yep, it’s a Momma spider that matches the concrete! with a whole bunch of babies riding on her back!! She is completely covered with baby spiders! Josh took the picture for me and the grandchildren found the eyes staring out in the dark with their head lamps while we all were riding on the bikes.
