I thought I was going to take some longer rides over the weekend, but I got busy working on projects up at camp with Cousin Dan.
So I made one final push riding on the last two days of the month, and I hit my mileage goal!

As part of the Great Cycle Challenge USA “Tribute Day” my photo (above) appeared on the Times Square billboard.
There were pictures of all kinds of #GCCUSA riders from every US state scrolling by all day long… it looked amazing and people in Times Square were talking about it ALL day.

Got up on a Sunday and immediately got on the bike (after my coffee). I saw a lot of people preparing for the Buffalo Bills home game tonight. Stopped in Village of Orchard Park for protein bar and Gatorade. I think my legs are going to be sore tomorrow!
It wasn’t too cold outside, and it wasn’t raining after work today, so I thought it would be a good idea to get out and pedal a little bit before dinner. I didn’t expect to go 10 miles, but I was feeling good so I kept going.
This long weekend I took a longer ride from the Old First Ward to Delaware Park Loop ride by combining the Shoreline Trail (up to the 198) where I picked up followed the Jesse Kreigel path along the Scajaquada Creek to Delaware Park.
Got the tires on the bicycle inflated,
all the binky safety lights charged up, then took a #GCC2025 warm-up ride on Labor Day Monday.
With the heat dome moving away from WNY, things are finally cooling off which makes for better weather... however, the shorter days do not make it easier to log miles. In any event, it hard to believe it but the GCC starts in just two weeks! Hope you are following along with my training and mileage accomplishments.
It's official I signed up again, this might be my 12th year?
I registered for the ride, and donated to myself to kick things off. I got the spandex out, oiled up the bike chain, and blew up the tires... I'm officially in training for my GCC 2025 ride.
