I'm Riding For
Aubrey McDermott
This 2018 photo is of her age 5 and fighting for her life. She is so brave words cannot describe her. In 2022 she is in remission and a beautiful child.
My Story
2025 marks my 8th year riding in support of Kids Cancer Research.
The journey has been personal and powerful, especially because of Aubrey. Now 12 years old, she was diagnosed with cancer at just 3, and began her brave battle in 2016. The photo I continue to share hasn’t been updated, not because it captures the raw pain of watching a child face cancer far too young.
After enduring multiple relapses, Aubrey completed her most recent treatments at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City in 2022. Today, she remains in remission—a beacon of hope in this ongoing fight.
My family and I are celebrating this milestone, and I feel incredibly fortunate to still be riding in my 83rd year for such a critical cause.
The need remains urgent. Every day, children across the United States are diagnosed with cancer, and far too many lose their lives. Continued research and innovation are essential—and that’s where we all come in.
TOGETHER, we can push for more cures and better outcomes.
